Welcome To my room

8:27 AM

I just made my own cute little girls room! Whenever I don't travel, I find time to make stuff like this. Everything I used to create this room are your typical school materials like cardboards, sticks, glue, water color, clay. The key is you have to be resourceful and creative! I've been posting the DIY Japanese room I made on my Facebook page, and whenever I feel crafty, I'm building this tiny room for my toys, piece by piece.

This first photoset features Mayoi in a very laidback afternoon. Her little sister went out with the other girls so she has the entire house (er, room) by herself.

The subtle light is coming from a modeling lamp placed behind the room's window. I placed a paper diffuser to soften the light coming in.

The bunkbed is made of barbeque sticks! XD It reminds me of the old bunk bed that I used to share with my sisters when we were kids. :)

Mayoi likes to read Shoujo manga too. :3

Would you like to hang out with me?

This is the first set of photos that I did weeks ago, among others but I became too busy this past few weeks so I was not able to blog about this. I'll be posting the others very soon, so see you on my next post! :D

P.S. To those who have been inquiring, I have a store on my 500px account where you can purchase prints and high resolution digital downloads of my works. If you're looking for a specific artwork of mine, don't hesitate to send me a message at ilovepinkcheeks [at] gmail.com :)

  2. The pink really complements the figure well. Great job with the lighting too, it gives the feel of a real bedroom.

This is making me think, maybe I should build an indoors set too... haven't had any inspiration for my figures lately XD

  3. A lovely room, does it have more than 2 walls?
The first picture has such a strong presence, everything fits together, mood, model, light and colors. I love the curtains (‐^▽^‐)

  5. This is pretty neat, every time I see your pictures I get this urge to build stuff!

Although. I gotta say rather than the set itself I'm more impressed with the mood these pictures give.
